Sickles' salient

Few weeks ago we recreated 2nd of July at left Union flank at Gettysburg.

Two divisions of Longstreet's corps assaulted overstretched line of Federal IIIrd corps. 

We swapped positions of Hood's and McLaws' divisions (shown on initial positions).

Third Corps artillery massed around Peach Ochard...

... was soon forced to hasty retreat.

... but not for long. Pensylvannia Reserves to the rescue. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We spend a Friday evening preparing the battle, then full Saturday gaming.  

Rules were home version of brigade Fire&Fury.
